Day 26- The fire is out of control:(

The fire went from 1500 acres to 10,000 tonight.  They closed down I-70 when we were getting pictures at around 7pm.  They are now saying it isn't if it will cross I-70 but when:(  It is already burning islands in the colorado river and the wind is going prity good this evening.  We have lightning all around us right now so praying no more fires sparked.  Our biggest concern is the smoke.  It is settling in the valley we live in.  Please pray for help with all these fires near and far.

This is from my porch.  The spot is the sun and that isn't a cloud that is the smoke from the fire.  My house smells like a giant campfire.

Day 25- Fires are never good-especially to close to home

I tried to do this last night but our internet was being silly.  This fire started yesterday not to far from eric work.  he took pictures of it when they were first told and it isn't very big.  But by the time we went to Grand Junction and home it had grown a huge amount in only a few hours.  We could see the flames from the interstate at DeBeque.  I wish the camera could get a better picture.  It is still not controlled and if winds pick up there is a town not to far so praying for rain and great crews!!

when it first started to show about 1:30pm

3:00 pm

From grand junction.  It is so big it is making its own clouds now.

you can just barely see a spot above the cliff in the middle.  that is one of the helicopters that is dipping water out of the river there.  Was happy to see 3 helicopters and bomber plane.
from here we could see lots of flames

Day 23- My Handsome is Home:) YAY!!!

My Handsome got home today:)  He even got home way earlier than planned so it was awesome!!!  I am so glad to have him home even if it is only for a little while:)  Love this man more than anything!!!

Day 22- The Birds

Not the best picture but I looked out to see what horses doing and they were surrounded and covered in birds.  By the time I got my camera quite a few were already gone.  But was still neat to see!  Love to watch birds sit on horses backs.  I don't know why but it always makes me smile!
and boy does my horse need her mane brushed!

I so missing ranching and especially the baby cows:)  The neighbor cows came over to say hello and get a little treat of old hay we couldn't feed to the horses.  They are so fun to watch.  Sorry pics not the best.  My phone doesn't take the best pics.

to funny:)

Day 20-Realizing some things

Ok maybe I realized this a long time ago but didn't want to do it.  For me letting go of things that make me sad means letting go of people I truly love.  But it isn't enough to love someone and put your energy into a relationship if there isn't one.  What I mean by that is if it is always one sided or unimportant to the other person.  I have always given my heart 100%.  I would do anything I can for others and if I can't it crushes me.  But there are people that don't feel that way back.  I know I need to do this.  But it is so hard for me and makes me sad to think of letting people go but really if I let go and they go was it really worth holding on to.  NO!  I am grateful for those in life that truly love me for me and want to be a part of my life.  For those that don't I am only hurting myself being disappointed over and over.

Day 19- Sturgis bike Rally is 6 weeks from tomorrow!!

I miss sturgis a ton.  I love living in the blackhills and I loved the bike rally. Yes there are some questionable things done, seen and worn or Not worn.  But really there is a lot of awesome things to.  And you learn the areas you don't want to go to if you don't want to see the other stuff.  We loved all the custom bikes, the concerts and just the fun of people watching.  There is every kind of person under the sun there...Lawyers, doctors, mechanics, Christians, crazies, you name it.  But it is fun:)  We are looking at moving back there so I can be closer to some of our friends and Eric.  But we decided we wanted to go to the Rally this year:)  I had hoped to be living there by then and still hope we can work it out but if not we will be having a vacation there.

Main St.  SOOOOOOOOOOO many bikes.  I can't imagine how many millions of dollars worth of bikes are sitting on that street!!!

Sitting on a friends bike:)

One of my favorite motorcycles there!!!!

Day 18(late)another book day

Have to say I was prity disappointed.  I felt like it wasn't the best writing and I feel like the story could have gone differently and been better.  It will be interesting to see what they do with the next movies.

Day 17(late)-A reading day

I haven't been feeling that well and my arms are hurting extremely bad so the last two days all I did was read.  I finished a book a day.  My husband says that will get expensive if I keep doing that:)  I am a book person and I love BOOKS.  No kindle for me, I love an actual book and I keep them forever!!! I will have my own library in my house someday:)

I read the hunger games before I seen the movie, but I hadn't found a good enough sale on the other two. But I finally got them. So here was catching fire. Finished in a day!  I was not as impressed as with Hunger games.  Felt a little rushed in a lot of spots and others could have been left out.

Before-  My scraggly out of control hair and not make-up!! Not a pretty site!
Hard to see how light it is.  She went a little lighter than I wanted but it is definitely summer hair:)

You can see it is prity light better in this picture.

Day 15-A shakin faith

I am not sure if I have shared these pics or story before so if so I apologize but if not then this is a great story.  Well at least I think so:)
To say my faith has been shaken these past few years would be an understatement.  I never thought I could have my faith shaken like it has.  I never thought I would feel this hurt or anger again.  I never thought I would be frustrated with GOD.  I know how horrible but I am going to be honest with myself, y'all and GOD.  As if we can hide it from him anyways.  I have felt abandoned, let down, alone, and most of all hopeless.  It is the worst feeling ever and I hate it.  I wish y'all could have know me before my tularemia.  That is really when this all started.  I was strong, fun, energetic, positive, etc.  I was someone I really liked.  That I am not today.  I have been shaken and I am still fighting hard to hold on to that faith and trust GOD.
In 2006 it was about a year after my Tularemia and I was weak, sick and tired.  I was going through a divorce and I just felt like my whole world was caving in on me.  I had always had a dream of starting a horse rescue so I went to crystal peaks youth ranch in sisters Oregon for a informational weekend on starting a horse rescue.  I had no idea the changes it would bring.
It was a very emotional time and a great time.  We had just had a meeting about the faith end of it all and being able to trust GOD in doing it all.  We had talked about some of the stories of some of the horses on this rescue ranch.  It was time for a break and I was by the fence praying and crying desperately.  Asking GOD for his help.  I was watching the herd in the lower part of the pasture and praying LORD help me, speak to me.  Then a golden horse looked up and started trotting straight for me.  I recognized this a Job.  He was rescued from starvation and a horrible place.  He was old and lame so I was in shock to see him trot.  He trotted directly to me and I started to pet him and it was at the moment I reached for his neck I saw it.....HOPE!!!!  It was painted on his neck.  The LORD had sent me hope at that moment.  He showed me that even a broken down old horse that no one had wanted could save my life, so I could save my own and others.  Today I was praying and I was reminded of this.  So I thought it would be great for my picture a day.

This is JOB!  He was my angel in horse hair from the LORD.  He hadn't been there long but they had already made him look so much better than his pictures and I am sure he continued to look better and better.  I am sure he continues to bring HOPE to others!!!

Day 14- Storms a brewin

So we haven't had rain in I don't know how long!!! We haven't had more than a sprinkle since probably April.  We need it.  But I hope these storms don't spark any fires.  We are so dry it wouldn't take much to make a very dangerous fire.  But I do love, love, love to see thunderheads build and do miss that about the mid-west.   Here couple pics of it starting to build.

Day 13- Fathers Day Project

So today I prity much worked on my fathers day present all day.  I know I am late in getting it done, but my mom didn't get me a copy of my dads set up pictures till yesterday so It will just have to be a little late.  But hopefully he will love it.  I did a photo book on Mixbook for him.  It was a lot of fun to do.  But a lot of work to:)  But I did love it when it was done so I ordered a copy for me also:)  I will see how it turns out when it comes in a couple weeks and then maybe I will conquer our wedding pics on doing a photo book.
working on it on the computer!

Day 11- Jeremiah 29:11

So obviously not a picture I took but really I didn't have anything I felt I should take a picture of and share.  I have been staring at this on my computer screen for quite sometime.  I CLING to this verse.  I have been having a very hard time with things lately and I am trying to remember this and trust GOD.  So I felt it was a good picture to share today.

Day 10- A picture texted to me:)

So a VERY awesome friend of mine sent this to me as an idea for a tattoo.  I don't think she has any idea how much it meant to me!!!  So I am borrowing it for my picture of the day!
Song of Solomon 4:7- You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.

I know I have flaws but I love that she thought of this thinking of me!

Day 8&9- A day trip to denver

I can't believe I forgot yesterday:(  But honestly didn't really do anything or have much to share.  But today I had to go to Denver for more tests on my arm.  It was a very beautiful drive.  But the wildfire by Fort Collins really made everything hazy on the front range.  I couldn't spend a lot of time in Denver since the boys were at home waiting so I decided last minute on my way home to go to Buffalo Bills grave and museum.  Here are a few pics.
On the drive there.  So beautiful!

on the way up to Buffalo Bills Grave

His wife and him are buried side by side

In the museum

The view from his grave.  He wanted to be buried there because of the view. You can normally see 4 states from there but the wildfire made that impossible.  Hopefully they can get that contained soon.

Dillon Lake!!! Stunning.  I am hoping we will get to spend fourth of July there!!

Day-7 I made it a week remembering my pic a day:)

So I know silly pic!!! Just having fun with the webcam:)  Eric was off work today up in North Dakota so we got to spend some time skypeing.  Then we found a website we could play each other at battleship and other games.  It was a blast.  It was a long distance Saturday night date:)  It helped me not to feel so lonely and to feel included in his life.  They will be getting busy hopefully early next week so I really enjoyed this time with him.  Oh the technology we have:)  It is great when you can't be with those you love!!!

Day 6- A borrowed picture

I borrowed this picture from online.  This is where my Husband is now.  He is in Watford City, ND.  They will be living in a travel trailer in a trailer park till their man camp is done probably end of July-Early August.  He says it is extremely Redneck.  Right next to them he said some people put up dog kennel panels and put their horses in them:(  That is soooooooooooooooo NOT RIGHT!  The cops are driving by prity regularly it sounds like and he said it is entertaining to people watch for sure.  He said they are going to get a kiddie pool and some flamingos for the front yard:)  hee hee my husband!!  He said best description is it looks like after Hurricane Katrina with the trailers everywhere the eye can see.  I am missing him like crazy already!!!

Very good- Sharing from a fellow blogger and a favorite author

I am sharing this from a fellow blogger and one of my favorite authors. http://miraleesdesk.blogspot.com/This is such a great thing to read and share.

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older
woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.

The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days."

The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today.
Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."

She was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to
the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and
sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and
over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we
reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags,
was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks.
This was to ensure that public property, (the books
provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our
scribblings. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown
paper bags.

But too bad we didn't do the green thing back then.

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every
store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't
climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two
blocks.

But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the
throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling
machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry
our clothes back in our early days.
Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters,
not always brand-new clothing.

But that young lady is right; we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every
room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief
(remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In
the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have
electric machines to do everything for us.
When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail,
we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it,
not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then,
we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn.
We used a push mower that ran on human power.
We exercised by working so we didn't need to
go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she's right; we didn't have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup
or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled
writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the
razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just
because the blade got dull.

But we didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their
bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour
taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire
bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a
computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites
23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.

But isn't it sad that the current generation laments how wasteful we old
folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

Day 5-I love architecture

So I should have taken a picture of me and Eric or his truck leaving or something but I plum forgot this am after getting up at 4:30 to take Eric to work:(  I am going to miss him like crazy!!!

So I decided I would take a drive after my physical therapy and take some pics of some of the houses I love around the town I was working in.  I love the architecture in this huge subdivision.  It is a jumble of rustic, country, log, rock, tin, and many other neat elements.  I have so many ideas for my dream home when I am rich(A girl can dream:)) I wish I had a better camera to catch more of the details but here are a couple of my favorites!!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! It is a jumble of many elements but looks so awesome all together.  You got logs, you got chinking, you got worm wood, you got tin, it is AMAZING!!!!

I just want to sit on that upper porch staring at the mountain!!!
OH and that would be this mountain:)

I wish the cars weren't parked there but I love the barn door looking garage doors and the addition of some rock!!!
