Yuck the flu:(
So Eric came home Monday miserable but since we were having a huge dust storm thought allergies so he took his claritan but about and hour later he was burning up:( didn't get any better so we took him to doctor this am to get tested for strep but turns out he tested positive for Influenza:( Poor guy. So they put him on Tami-flu, codeine cough syrup and Vicodin for the body pain. Well guess what hit me like a ton of bricks couple hours ago:( At least it is now so I can be better by the time I leave for Arizona next Thursday. Gotta go lay down the dizziness is hitting again:(

Early Birthday present
I am so excited I got to book my birthday present a few days early. I am going down to Arizona to see my grandparents and my aunt. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited. My husband is the best!!!! I found flights for an awesome price and it will be a great trip. It is much needed right now. My arms have not been doing well and I had a melt down at the physical therapy:( I know it takes time and I am trying to keep positive and keep going but not being able to do much and being in SOOOO much pain all the time just really stinks. It will be nice to get away and just relax and spend some time with people and people I love:) I am a people person big time so being here in Colorado with no friends and family has been hard so this will be a good time.

Nothing to exciting right now
Haven't really had a lot of exciting things to post about lately. My arms are still not cooperating. There is now some nerve problem in my left arm that send pain into my fingers and all the way into my neck so we are working at that hoping it isn't permanent. I am still not able to use the right at all so I am prity much stuck doing nothing for a while longer.
There has been some rumors about my husbands company sending a lot of their stuff to north dakota but we don't know if that will include my husband or not. We will just have to wait for an official announcement. But with the gas and such slowing her and a lot of the riggs moving north they don't have much of a choice but to head up that way. There is better money to be made up that way but that would mean we would have to be a part. We have done that before but it bites so I am not going to fret to much until we hear something from the bosses mouth. You know how rumors can be.
The weather here has been prity awesome. Sunny and warm. But the bad thing is we haven't had much snow this season so that isn't good for fires and for cost of hay. I hope we get some good rain this spring and then some good rain showers spread throughout the summer. We shall see, but for now I am just enjoying the sunny warm weather. I like to sit out in my chair and read a book while I soak up some vitamin D)

My adventurous living:)
(we painted the tipi ourselves) (Little Kohanna Trying to get out of the Tipi)
(Both Tipis up. The 16ft and our 20"ft)
So when I was 19 my fiance at the time wanted to live in a Tipi and I said sure why not?? So we set about having the tipi made and then trying to find a place we could live in it. So we drovearound and happened to stop by a campground on a ranch and talk to the owner and he said we could do it on their property. He also had a smaller tipi we could set up and use till ours was done. So we set about setting up the 16' tipi. It was april so the weather was decent. We had to dig a cool hole for our cold stuff, build a kitchen box and go about getting life in a tipi set up.
(cooking dinner in the tipi)
I will say I loved this life. It was definetly a lot harder and you had to learn things the hard way sometimes but I loved how simple it was. It was so beautiful to lay in the tipi and look out the smoke flaps in the summer and see the stars. We learned all the little tricks as the location we picked was beautiful but not very protected. So it was well over 100 degrees in the summer and below zero in the winter there in Idaho.
(One of our early snows)
We learned to keep forked sticks around in the summer to push up the edges of the bottom of the tipi and that would let a nice cool breeze through and we did most of the cooking outside in the summer months dutch oven style. You always got to know which way the wind is going to move the smoke flaps the correct direction to pull the smoke out.
In the winter we learned you must keep the snow dug away from the bottom of the tipi so that the air can push up under the tipi edge and then run up the liner and push the smoke out. We also learned you don't want to keep a fire going all night it is to much work and a waste of wood. So we put our bedroll up on pallets and insulated with wool blankets in the pallets and then we built a little hut over the bed with willow branches, canvas and wool blankets and then when we would go to bed we would close the front and that would hold the body heat and keep us warm enough to sleep in tshirt and shorts. After you get a fire going in the tipi it gets PLENTY warm:) Even with ours being bigger.
( You can kind of see the hut behind me over the bed)
(Started the Fires with flint and steel mostly)
It was a very fun and exciting thing to try. We lived in it in Idaho for 2 years and almost a year in wyoming. When we moved to Oregon it was to wet for it in the winter so we only used it in the summer and that is when we built the yurt to live in.
It was fun to have people visit and see how we lived, it was funny to see peoples reaction when I worked at the ski hill and they would say did you see that tipi on the way up it had smoke coming out of it. I would tell them I lived there and they wouldn't believe me because I didn't look like a "hippie" they would say:) Even my mom made a visit and stayed for 2 weeks. She loved it:)
(Yes we did Tomahawk throwing and LOVED IT)
(Kohanna's Redneck trampoline. The cowhide we were making into rawhide:))

Virtual Wedding Shower for Mikey and Wade!!!!

I love the following toast and thought it fit. I wish I could be there to see the two of you marry, but I will be there in heart and spirit. May it be a truly memorable and blessed day!!!!!
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon the fields.
May the light of friendship guide your paths together.
May the laughter of children grace the halls of your home.
May the joy of living for one another
trip a smile from your lips, a twinkle from your eye.
And when eternity beckons,
at the end of a life heaped high with love,
May the good Lord embrace you
with the arms that have nurtured you
the whole length of your joy-filled days.
May the gracious God hold you both
in the palm of His hands.
And, today, may the Spirit of Love
find a dwelling place in your hearts.
Amen.

Well not moving:(
So again it fell through. The lady had called and said it was ours she would come from out of town on Sunday and we would sign all the papers and such and then we could move in the 15th. Well she hadn't bothered to say that was if she could get a hold of our current landlord who we can never get a hold of. She got all her other references on us and said she loved us but then calls today and was rude to Eric and said if we don't get the landlord to call by this afternoon she was going to give the place to someone else!! So now I have packed a lot of stuff up and my house is full of boxes everywhere but oh well it is going to stay like that. I am not going to unpack again. Someday we will find the right place near or far. Just frustrating is all. But I know GOD has other plans so I will just concentrate on that:)
